Mindfulness vs Mindlessness

By Nicolle Kopping-Pavars, Barrister, Solicitor, and Mindfulness Teacher.

Another word for mindlessness is autopilot or more specifically mental autopilot. Anything that steals time, drains emotion and turns potential positive into static energy is by its very nature unhelpful. It postpones any type of intuitive or spiritual growth. Not being aware of what our body is doing or what our mind is thinking is reckless. It breeds autopilot responses and habitual patterns of acting. Having awareness provides us with choice, a momentary experience to choose between reckless reactions or positive movement.
